Carmela Garagozzo
My name is Carmela and I am a student of life.
I started practicing yoga as a way to heal my own injuries, and quickly learned that it was more than just a physical practice — it's a way of life — a meditation, a way of being. The practice resonated with me on a deep level, not only for its physical benefits but also for the sense of peace and mindfulness it brought to my life. Inspired by my newfound passion, I pursued a yoga certification to deepen my understanding and share the gift of yoga with others.
I obtained my certification in 2010 and have been practicing and teaching since. I gravitate towards Hatha Yoga because it anchors me like no other practice. Restorative Yoga brings joy to my heart because it truly allows space for the body and the mind to unwind deeply and that is where restoration and rejuvenation come forth.
My classes focus on breath, alignment and body awareness—and they're always challenging! Whether you're just looking for an easy way to get into shape or you want to learn some deeper lessons about yourself through this practice, you'll leave my class feeling invigorated and ready for anything.
Over the years, I've studied different holistic modalities like Aromatherapy, Reiki, and Herbology. I am also trained in Yoga Thai Message and Yoga Therapy. Most recently I completed a Trauma Informed Yoga Certification. I believe that when we open ourselves up to new experiences, we not only learn how to better care for our bodies but also find ways to connect with others and grow as people.
Upon obtaining my certifications, I was eager to share my knowledge and connect with a community that valued holistic well-being. It was then that fate intervened, leading me to GoodLife Fitness. The timing couldn't have been better. GoodLife Fitness was actively seeking yoga instructors who were dedicated to promoting health and wellness. Stepping into the role of a yoga instructor at GoodLife felt like a natural progression, and I quickly found myself at home within this dynamic fitness community.
Reflecting on my journey, I am reminded that success often comes not just from hard work, but from timing, opportunity, and an unwavering belief in oneself. I am grateful for and honored to bring all of what I have learned to Studio Sigh.
Let the good times roll.
